Uprooted/BDC Fall Intensive

After our hugely successful summer intensive in 2023 we are excited to be returning to NYC and partnering with the iconic Broadway Dance center on 45th St in Manhattan, NYC!

The UPROOTED/BDC jazz dance intensive will physically explore the historical roots of jazz dance with some of the industry’s finest educators, including some of the film's very own artists and experts. Workshops will include African dance, Dunham-based jazz, Lindy Hop/vernacular jazz, commercial jazz, Afrobeat, Frank Hatchett VOP, theater dance, and tap. Participants will also receive a link to view the multi award-winning ‘UPROOTED – The Journey of Jazz Dance’ a feature-length documentary celebrating the history, lineage, and future progressions of jazz dance. 

UPROOTED Jazz Intensive is for participants ages 15+

We have an incredible faculty lined up this year including ~ Ray F.Davis, Mishay Petronelli, Candice Michelle Franklin, Dre Torres, Sheila Barker, Karli Dinardo, Judith McCarty and Omari Wiles.
