Uprooted in Switzerland

Zak Nemorin - Master Instructor - Jazz Teachers Matt Mattox Intensive - March 2024

Zak Nemorin had a wonderful day teaching a Matt Mattox based jazz technique workshop at the Musical Factory in Lucern, Switzerland. The energy was incredible passion and eagerness to learn more about this technique was above and beyond.

This was the first time we had done anything in Switzerland and the response from the teachers who attended was amazing. We plan on expanding this kind of workshop/intensive into more countries in Europe as the interest is definitely there!

Here is some great feed back from two of the participants ~

“I learned a lot about Matt Mattox technique and how its movement repertoire connects to the jazz styles that are being introduced nowadays. Understanding one of the roots of jazz dance (not only theoretically but also in my body) will surely play a great part in becoming a more informed and conscious dancer and teacher.” Alexandra Pfab

“I loved being brought back to my vocational training days with the Matt Matrix technique , which Jacki Mitchell has brought to me back in the day. I was surprised as to how much was still in my body and also how much of the style I actually took with me over the many years. I loved every minute of it and more of these master classes need to be out there, especially here in Germany. Watching Uprooted- The journey of JAZZ I felt reconnected to all the great teachers I had during my life time as a dancer. Watching the film also helped me even more understand the power of the legacy of Jazz dance, which needs to be shouted out from all the rooftops! So thank you very much for this day of inspiration, bringing communication amongst the dance community, the passion and congratulations to this outstanding piece of art education.” Melanie Day
